How NOT to be a Starving Artist, by Brit Hammer

We are firm believers that, contrary to popular belief, there's no need for anyone to be a "starving artist". That's why we were thrilled with the news that artist and life coach Brit Hammer has a new book in the works entitled "BREAKOUT! Your Pathway to Success."

According to her website, the book "guides readers through the process of creating their own successful fine art businesses while sharing the experiences and advice of international contemporary artists already on the cutting edge." Sounds like a worthy follow-up to her first book, "Mosaic: Finding Your Own Voice."

Brit is currently looking for art to include in the book, so she sent along the following:

Open call to artists
Entries are now being accepted from international artists working in any media whose work is informed by mosaic and mosaic techniques. There are no strings attached and no costs involved to enter. Deadline: September 9, 2009.

Brit wanted to be clear that she is looking for "non-traditional" work, not necessarily what one might label a mosaic, but something very much influenced by mosaics.
