February 3rd Deadline for Third Mosaic Art and Architecture Prizes

This is a quick post to let MAN readers know about the February 3rd deadline for submissions for the Third Prize for Mosaic And Architecture.

The prizes are significant:
  • Mosaic and Architecture 2012 - 3,000 Euro
  • Mosaic and Architecture 2012 Religious - 1,000 Euro
  • Mosaic and Architecture 2012 Private Home - 1,000 Euro
The competition is sponsored by the Province of Pordenone, the Province of Udine, the Municipality of Spilimbergo and Fondazione CRUP.

"The competition aims to find connections between the architectural project and the world of mosaic art and therefore to establish a link, a relationship that has been for centuries principle of complmentarity among the different arts, but that has been neglected since 1960.

The competition intends to offer a Prize for Mosaic Art and Architecture 2012 to an architect or a designer who, in his professional life, used mosaic as an integral part of an architectural work which has been already completed."

As in the past, prizes will be awarded in conjunction with an event called "Tendenza Mosaico" which will be part of the Pordenone Fair.  Results of the competition will be published on the Fair's website.  Projects considered worthy will be displayed in the pavilions of the Fair from February 15th through  February 18th.

A few more specifics:
  • Participation is free
  • Individuals or groups both welcome
  • "The candidates must send the required documentation by registered post in a sealed cover within 3rd February 2012" to an address in Pordenone, Italy.
