"Convergence" is a commanding 12' h x 50' wide x 6" d mosaic that is located in a plaza in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood at 426 Terry Ave. N.
Says Gardner:
One can only imagine the communication, mutual respect, and artistic "melding of the minds" that it took to make "Convergence" happen.
"The two yellow arcs that form Convergence curve down and inward toward an intimate point on the wall. The small yellow/gold glass tiles become more intense toward this point, seemingly gather the light and energy of the plaza in this one particular place."
Gardner collaborated closely with Franz Mayer of Munich, Germany in creating and constructing "Convergence." This is not the first time that Gardner and the renowned fabricator have worked together -- and it shows. Imagine making something this big, this seamless between continents, languages and time zones.

Once again, Gardner's simple, elegant sculptural forms married with painstakingly created mosaics has created something quite magnificent.

We say that not only was "convergence" the inspiration for this work, it also characterizes the brilliant meeting of minds and talents that made it happen.
